Steve Dahl
Chicago radio legend for 25 years now. His afternoon drivetime show on WCKG is five hours of music, loose chat and hilarity. He's had us on 10 times since '97 (most recently in January 2003), and things usually get pretty silly. Check out his site for photos from '01 and '02.

Dave Navarro
Dan's cousin Dave Navarro is the quintessential guitar hero. He's back with Jane's Addiction and currently tearing up MTV with his new wife, Carmen Electra, and their reality series, Till Death Do Us Part, chronicling their November 2003 wedding.

Folk Scene
For over 30 years Roz & Howard Larman's Folk Scene has presented immaculately produced music and candid conversation by a who's who of singers and songwriters, folk and beyond. We've been on 5 times and were on their compilation CD, "From the Heart of Studio A Vol. I", now in its third volume. Recorded by Peter Cutler, their show is the basis of our "Live Radio" album. You can hear them on radio and webstream at KPFK-FM 90.7 Saturdays from 8am - 10am Pacific Time. Get Folked!

Don Conoscenti
Don writes and sings panoramic songs of stirring insight and unique mischief. We've done many shows together, including the 2003 Atlanta show recorded for "3 For The Road", our 4 CD set of concert lunacy.

Phil Parlapiano
Simply the finest musician we know. Phil is co-writer of "RAining IN My Eyes" the mandolin on "Just To See You" and "Constant As The Night", accordion on "Beyond The Pale" and "Dreams I Left Behind", the organ on "When The Lights Go Down" and piano on "Maybe Tomorrow It Will Rain". His CV includes playing with artists as diverse and Rod Stewart, Dave Koz, John Prine, Grant Lee Buffalo and Shawn Mullins. His old group, The Brothers Figaro, were our friendly rivals in the early 90's when they recorded for Geffen. If you can't beat 'em, hire him.

The Kerrville Festival
Since 1972, anyone who is anyone in the world of "folk" (whatever that means) has graced their stages. There are many folk festivals, but only one Kerrville, a two-week campfire for lovers of heartfelt songs, set in the beauty of Texas hill country. Actually, there are TWO Kerrvilles -- the two-week summer festival and a three-day music and wine fest over Labor Day weekend. Both founded by Rod Kennedy, his calling to present "Music From The Heart" shines brightly year after year.

The Kennedys
Pete & Maura Kennedy cut their teeth playing with Nancy Griffith, and the lessons were learned well. Their eclectic brand of expressive folk and pure pop raises the bar for those of us who like our roots with a modern edge. Check them out.

Keb' Mo'
This two-time Grammy winner opened five shows for us on his first tour in 1994, and has remained a good friend. As his star has risen, Keb' has brought the blues back to a contemporary audience. Far from a nostalgia trip, he makes a thoroughly modern statement with his newest release, "The Door".

Eddie From Ohio
Beautiful music, furious playing, great singing, a million laughs. Virginia's best kept secret is quickly becoming common knowledge. You won't find a better time. We've opened shows for each other all over the country and are charter members of each others' mutual admiration society.

Dan "Maz" Marfisi, aka "Jones"
Dan drummed with us from 1994-1995, and again for the past 18 months. In between, he toured with the platinum-selling artist Poe on Atlantic Records and currently drums with actor-singer Harry Dean Stanton. He is also a fine songwriter in his own right.

Joel Rafael
The only outside song we've ever put on a studio album is Joel's "Gold Mine", which we have performed since we first met. We've done many a show together, as well. He is the soul of Woody Guthrie incarnate, the love child of Bob Dylan, singing stories that runs true and deep.

MIchael McDermott
This Chicago singer-songwriter's career closely parallels our own: Michael has five acclaimed albums under his belt and way too few people know about him. Hopefully that will change.

Gretchen Peters
The award-winning composer of "Independence Day" (Martina McBride), "Let That Pony Run" (Pam Tillis), "On a Bus To St. Cloud" (Trisha Yearwood), "The Secret of Life" (Faith Hill) and co-writer of "Cry" by L&N. Gretchen also is a moving and insightful interpreter of her own material on her two CDs, "The Secret of Life" and "Gretchen Peters".

The Mojo Monkeys
The press says the Mojo's are "some sorta swampy-assed, semi-literate, bayou boogaloo," and that's good juju. Lurking in this band's past are stints with L&N, including singer-drummer David Raven playing on "Broken Moon", the bonus tracks on "Walking on a Wire", "Scratch At The Door" and a few songs on our upcoming "Live Radio" collection. Bassist Taras Prodoniuk has provided steady bottom for Dwight Yoakum for 12 years, and has done our local LA shows the last few years.

Kathleen Haskard
Co-writer of L&N's "My Own Way Of Doing Things" and Stacey Earle's "Losers Weep", Kathleen released her first album, "Into The Deep", in 1999. A California girl who has called South London home for the past 25 years, her songs bristle with biting wit and hard-earned wisdom.

Anne McCue
Anne is a magnificent guitarist, singer and writer and is currently LA-based, via Australia. Her great new album "Roll" is a deep rocking pool of.

BoDeans and The Unofficial BoDeans Site
Two websites devoted to the band that made Waukesha famous. Great writers, great two-part singers and our good buddies, Sam Llanas & Kurt Neumann have been an ongoing source of friendship and inspiration for years. Sam has even opened for us solo on occasion, proving that he gives as good as he gets. Look for their new album, "Resolution", on Zöe/Rounder in June 2004.

Venice
For tight harmonies, very few bands can touch Venice, led by the Brothers/Cousins Lennon. We've done a dozen shows together over the years, and they're big stars in Holland now.

Sunrise Pickup Systems
We often get asked why our guitars sound so good live. We owe it all to Jim Kaufman and his Sunrise Pickup System, which we've used for more than 15 years. Their crisp, clean, clear sound is why they're used by The Rolling Stones, Tracy Chapman, Richard Thompson, Leo Kottke, David Lindley, Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne and a very long list of other top players.

Russ & Julie's House Concerts
Russ & Julie Paris have turned the house concert into a fine art, featuring some of the finest new folk and pop artists around in intimate settings. Their shows run nearly every six weeks, so log in often.

Paige O'Hara
Paige is best known as the gorgeous voice of Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast films. She's also represented by our erstwhile manager, Mike Gormley. Check her site above, or her new site for more.
